Is the ball top customizable? I'm asking here because I sent them an email about a week ago and heard no answer. I'm hoping someone here knows

you can tweak the sensitivity of the switches yes.  What kind of tweak would you do to the balltop itself? :dizzy:

Do you mean replacing the balltop itself to another coloured balltop?

Not sure what kind of customization you're asking about.  Perhaps that's why you didn't get a response. Please clarify.

From Randy's thread on his balltops:

Q:  Randy - Do you know if these will fit the Tru4 and/or the Leaf-Pro True Leaf sticks?  I'm about to place an order.  Thanks.

A:  Sorry, those two sticks have fixed knobs.  Fortunately, they are a decent quality knob, but they only come in red.

The knob is molded onto the end of the stick- not interchangeable unless you want to grind it off, drill out your new top, and glue it on.  I am considering this because i want my fave 4 way stick to have a matte finish red balltop as God intended.

Those of you guys that have this stick, how does it feel to you? I have one (4-way restricted), but I'm not sure it's as smooth as I expected it to be. I almost feel like something is catching on the shaft where the spring goes. :dunno

I have thought about doing hollow shafts for these two joysticks, we can get very similar sticks, any interest in hollow shafts that allow any ball top, including clear balls that can be lit?

We just got in the IL Eurostick, Happ Super joystick hollow shafts in and we are thinking of expanding to a few other sticks....

Hollow shafts would be stainless and 12.50 each.

If your name is either Jason, Joseph or Francis, who asked the same question this past week, check your spam folder because I answered this question for you right after it was received.  Otherwise, sorry, I did not receive your email for some reason.  But no, they are a fixed red knob.  A general rule of thumb on the GGG store is;  if there are no options given for the ball tops, they aren't changeable.

I designed the restriction plate as a very slight "clover-leaf", as that was necessary to ensure proper 4-way operation.  This might explain the feel.  The customer reviews I have seen, place the Leaf-Pro™ stick at a 7 or 8 out of 10, when compared to the actual Pac-Man stick.  These sticks, as they come stock from the manufacturer, have poor function and ridiculous excuses for switches (they are also not offered in a 4-way), so based on the customer reviews of our re-build, I'd say we did quite well with it.  If I were to rate it, I'd probably give it a similar mark, as I was able to more than double my Pac-Man scores in testing with it.  The only other thing we could do to improve it, would be to replace the shaft to allow for different colored tops, but that would just significantly increase the cost, without adding further functionality or performance. The shaft is nicely chromed, and the red ball tops are well made, so it's a simple case of diminishing returns.
