New guy! Hello all!
« on: October 17, 2011, 05:49:07 pm »
Greetings! I'm new to the forum, so I just wanted to stop in and introduct myself.

Hi! I'm Justin, I'm a 20 year old student and professional wrestler who, over the last couple months, has been bitten by the arcade bug.

I picked up my first machine in September, a WWF Wrestlefest. Unfortunately, it was a total hack job. The cabinet was cut to fit a bigger monitor, causing all of the pins to be broken.

Since it's such a mess, I've stripped the cabinet down (I'm gunna put Wrestlefest into a new cabinet), and I'm turning this POS cabinet into my first MAME.

Now, this is my first time attempting anything like this, so I'll probably be asking plenty of questions.  Anyone willing to help, please get at me!

Thanks for letting me share! I look forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome to the wonderful world of arcade building, prepare to kiss your free time goodbye because this hobby is very addictive and one machine can quickly turn into two, then three and so on  ;). Ive just finished my second MAME machine, if you need any help or suggestions please dont hesitate to ask, the community is very helpful.

Hi there!  I'm fairly new as well but I can definitely say this community is absolutely great!  I have an almost complete cab that I will unveil sometime soon and would be glad to help in any way I can.  Hope to see you around!

Welcome. It's a great hobby (or addiction, you may say)

Sorry for the lack of replies all, Octobers the busiest month of the year for me work wise lol. I'm still trying to do my MAME, but I'm having so many problems with getting everything to be the same version. A lot of the time my ROMs are missing files, arent backwards compatable? IDK, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
