Which trackball is the best choice?
« on: October 15, 2011, 04:09:25 pm »
I'm looking to buy some parts for my cabinet. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=114774

I have found 3 different 3" trackballs that seem like good options, but I'm not sure which one to choose.

1. Groovy Game Gear Groovy-TB 3" Trackball (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=74&products_id=363) $59.95. It requires the OptiWiz interface (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76_85&products_id=260) $14.95.

2. Ultimarc U-Trak "Smartest Trackball Ever" (http://www.ultimarc.com/trackball.html) $79.00. It doesn't require a mounting plate.

3. Suzo Happ 3" Trackball with USB and PS/2 Interface (http://na.suzohapp.com/trackballs/565600xx2.htm) $185.35

It surprises me that the price of the the Suzo Happ is so much more than the other two. Does anyone have any experience with these and can offer a suggestion?

Thanks.

Great question. I'm in the process of pricing out some 3" trackballs myself. I'll be keeping an eye on your post as I'm interested if the feedback I hope you receive.

FWIW, you can probably get the Happs trackball cheaper from divemaster here at the forum.

What about the x gaming usb trackball?  Might not be the best but the price is right and no need for a specific interface.

I bought 3 of the 3" usb happ trackballs off of ebay with mounting plates for $110 each, shipped.  Brand new.  I thought that was a great deal after seeing the retail prices from happ.
Check out my current 3 machine build:
