PSX to Xbox controls
« on: September 14, 2003, 11:34:53 am »
I'd like to know whether you have tried any adaptor that allows you to use a PSX pad with a Xbox. Please tell me what model are you using and how well it works: any lag in the response? do all buttons work? Do they correctly match the xbox controls? I have a couple of Arcade panels with psx pad hacks and I'd like to know if I will be able to use them with a Xbox. I have very good experiences with psx adaptors for PC and for Dreamcast, but I have no idea about Xbox. Thanx.

Well if you want the best one you can get, this is definitely the way to go. http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=83&products_id=1892&  Those things have 3 ports, and a memory card slot.  If you just go out and pick up an adapter, MAKE SURE it has a memory card slot, so that you can use Xbox live voice if you ever wanna go online with Capcom vs SNK 2 for example.  I personally use an Interact, just had to pick up the cheapest and the only one they had at the store, but it doesnt have a memory card slot, so I'm more than likely gonna pick another one up from ebay sometime soon here.  And there's no lag time in the convertors, the only time I've ever had that problem was when I used my USB to PSX adapter with an original analog controller back on my windows 98 machine.  And it was hardly noticable, but I'm more than certain your not gonna be seeing any lag on a ps2 to xbox controller adapter.
