How to save sliders in mame without this happening
« on: October 01, 2011, 08:16:13 pm »
Hi. I've figured out how to save overclocking sliders like in double dragon by enabling write config and autosave in the mame.ini. What sucks about this, is when I load Double Dragon now as an example, it loads the state the game was in as well when I exited last. I really would like the sliders to be saved but the game starts from the initial bootup process (Checking roms, then going to title screen).

Plus now everytime I load it as well a "State Loaded Successfully" Message appears which I'm not to fond of it takes away from the cab illusion. If I want the slider settings saved is this the only way to do it?

Cmon guys there's no way to save overclock options into games without loading a game save state when you replay the game?

i can only fix 'half' of your problem

when u quit the game thus creating the save point, make sure the save point is a point where u are happy, eg. at the very start of the attract mode (eg. the point just after a reset of the game)

then, change your .sta file in the mame/sta folder to read only, so from then on your game will always start at that save point you are happy with, regardless of when u quit the game in the future
