New widescreen (16:9) skin for DWJukebox
« on: September 29, 2011, 08:55:03 pm »
Posting this here as well as in the DWJukebox forum (DOS/WinCab).  Hope that's OK, as maybe some members are not real familiar with DWjukebox (DOS/WinCab).

If you have a newer PC with a widescreen monitor (16:9 aspect ratio, like my MSI All-In-One touchscreen unit) and you like DWJukebox's 'old school' approach to jukebox emulation, check out my latest incarnation of my PhotoSkin.

*It now supports 12 user-supplied pictures that alternate in the center of the screen.
*The 'sign' at the top of the screen is easily modified
*The 'ad' to the right of the 'now playing' field is easily modified
*Don't like the color scheme?  The background colors can be pretty easily changed by using Paint and the bucket tool to fill the existing colors with colors of your choice.  The benefit of not having graphic skills for gradients, tints, raised buttons, etc.... :D

No.  But I certainly like it for music.  DWJukebox (which stands for DOS/Widnows jukebox) is kind of showing its age.  For example, touchscreen support works in Windows XP but not in VISTA or Windows 7.   Still, it is really the only jukebox software out there that presents singles the way an old jukebox would.  I enjoy being presented with a screenful of my music collection, scrolling through screen after screen of songs and picking things to play.  Or just hitting my random song button on my keypad.

I use this the most, but I also have downloaded and/or purchased several other jukebox programs.  I don't think there's a one-that-does-everything out there.  There are album-based jukebox programs out there that will play music videos, but I know there isn't one that does everything and presents this kind of interface.
