MaLa Layout Editor not working with older Layouts?

Hi, I am trying to open up the GameLauncher layout using the most current Layout editor, and it opens up a bunch of 'blank' objects... and no background image.

Is this a version compatibility issue?

right click background click properties, left click background again to select background. make sure the path is set to the .png

Remember, everyone has different drive letters, and folder scructures so it can never be an exact science.
