CP Help/Ideas?
« on: September 26, 2011, 04:58:39 pm »
Hello,
I bought a used cab yesterday which i am looking to convert into a small caberet Mame unit.
want to use the current control panel as its pretty flexible but not sure how i want to program controls.
Plan to buy an iPac2, but here is the layout.

As you see payer 1&2 buttons on top center. wanted to put coin botton in front of cabinet, do I need to have 2 of them or can i wire 1 button to both inputs on the iPac?

2 joysticks was planning on buying Ultimark Mag Stik Plus's so i can switch 4-8way on top. wont be easy to pull this CP on and off when shes done.

then I have 4 buttons next to each stick. Im not an expert gamer, building this for my kids. Any advice from real gamers how you would set up these 4 bottons if it was your machine. they are split up and want to make best use out of them.

Finally was planning on drilling in side buttons on the cab for pinball with another in front to act as plunger. Good idea???
Any help would be appreciated.

1 buttons to 2 inputs works or you could setup the player buttons to be both coin and player.  Some people do that so only 1 button push is needed.  4 buttons for each player should work well but I like them together in sort of a diamond or parallelogram shape to the right of the joysticks.   You would have to move your joysticks appropriately to make such an arrangement.
