newby needs help converting ultracade to mame

i want to convert my ultracade to mame but i realy want to use the usblinx pcb instead of jpac because usblinx has built in sound amp and pc to monitor converter .
has anyone done this and do i need any special software to run the usblinx ?
im going to use reg pc with 500 gig harddrive

cool I'm not that computer savvy when it comes to programing , I'm from the commodore age . oh how i miss hitch hikers guide .

my best friend used to teach at devry and worked on mame testing in 90s . he said we would build me a pc with 5000 games for my cab but he cant come help install it for a few months so ill be installing next weekend by my self
he said he was putting in 2 gigs of rom and 2000 gig harddrive , instead of my 500 mb rom and 500 gig harddrive i was going to use , seems like way over kill

For MAME games in the 90's you're going to want at least 1gb of ram.  The hard drive sounds huge but if you start adding other emulators, with all the artwork and video clips for a front-end, your hard drive space disappears rapidly.

Its hard to find a new HDD thats less than 200gb. Plus, if he decides to add more emulators down the road, he'll need the extra space. Ram is cheap.....2g is nothing anymore. The hardest part is gonna be interfacing the PC to the arcade monitor. Do some reading up on Soft 15kHz and video resolutions. There's quite a bit involved in setting up a MAME cabinet.

thats the only cool thing about usblinx , it has pc  to  arcade monitor converter and built in speaker amp unlike the jpac . the ultracade already is running a mama style pc
