Advice on control panel layout
« on: September 12, 2011, 03:39:19 pm »
Currently im looking at a 4 player CP, however with my limited photoshop skills (non exsistant!) im finding it very hard to make something to my liking! The cab will be running hyperspin and other emulation for consoles (N64/dreamcast) so needs 8 buttons for P1 and P2, although I will limited P3 and P4 to 4 buttons a peice for space reasons. Im not too bothered about having a trackball (can't really stand golden tee!) so that makes things easier for spacewise. ive made a small Jpg out of what I have so far, all Joysticks will be angled towards monitor. If anyone has any advice on my placements so far then that would be great!

Also can Smash TV be played 2 player using 1+3 and 2+4 ?

You may want to got Gameongraphix.com and order one of their multigame control panel overlays. I did not have very good service the last time I wanted to have a custom CPO printed but YMMV. I know a lot of people have been very happy with them. I would cut out your panel, lay on the CPO and then place a pronted out 4 button and 8 button template and see how you like it.

You can use the to joystick for smash TV. you just have to remap the sticks....
