How to power monitor in bartop cabinet?

Hi,
I was wondering how you guys power your cab monitors. I am wanting to run a 19" LCD in my cab but want only 1 cable from the back of the cab. Now the PC PSU will be cut out of the back panel for cooling so is there any way I can run the monitor from the PSU?

Only way is if your monitor runs on 12V.   If it has a power adapter that plugs into it then check the specs on the bottom of the power adapter to see how many volts and amps it needs.    If your monitor is 120V as in power cord right into it then you can use a smart power strip to control the power to your monitor by plugging your computer PS into it.   Since you already have your PS facing out you can also get 120V internally in the PS and route it to a regular power strip.   I take the 120 line after the power switch (if you have one) on the power supply so the internal 120V are controlled that way. Only line is usually switched neutral and ground can be tapped into and run right to your power bar.

Hi, I'm in the UK so would that work with 240v? Would I have to take the PC PSU apart to run the 240v from it? The PSU isn't cut out of the cabinet yet so if I use a power strip would the cooling be ok with the heat from the PSU staying in the cabinet?

Just replace 120 with 240 in my description and it will be the same.  If you are not venting your PS at the back I would install a fan at the top of the cab to remove the heated air and some vent holes on the back of the cab near the bottom to bring in cool air.  I find bartops heat up a lot faster than regular cabs due to the confined spaces involved.
