CONTROL PANEL Layout Help Please...
« on: September 09, 2011, 04:35:31 pm »
Hello everyone. I'm a new enthusiast who has the fever...

Working on my first cabinet and needed advice on a CP layout.
Have been doing alot of research and think i found a style I want to create but heres my problem. I know what i want but not sure how to get it drawn out. Heres what I like:
http://home.comcast.net/~stoli16/mame/cp/target0.html

Similar to the Neon Mame one but I wanted another joystick next to the spinner to play Tron.

So 2 questions.
1. How do i get this design set to A CP Top 30x14" Do I need to hire a cad or Visio guy here and is so Anyone want to do it???
2. I reached out to gameongraphics.com, when i do get the design can they make a a graphic with the control boxes perfectly spaced? or does anyone have other ideas. Basically want a black and blue lightning pattern...

Im sure some of you may think this is rather basic but after my first one Ill get this process down.
Any help would be appreciated.

Robert

some things to consider if you are still in the planning stages.  I started off with a copy of knivels layout too.  What i hated was the player controls are too far apart.  Whne you play 1p games you stand very far to the left.  The trackball is also too close to the monitor.  Also if you use something like U360s, you can ditch the idea of a dedicated 4way.
