coin mech
« on: September 10, 2003, 09:39:07 pm »
Hello,

I am brand new to the boards.  Ive been reading for a day or so and have to say I am very impressed.  I just started creating my first cab.  I bought 3 mdf 8x4's today and marked my plans on `em and hopefully tomorrow I start cutting.

But, I was looking for what kinda coin mech I was going to use.....I searched the boards, but really no answers...

I want this coin mech....

I searched happcontrols.com but all of their pictures are diagrams so it is hard to tell which is which.  If anyone could give me a site or model number to this coin mech I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thanks!

-Mark

I think you're referring to the actual door.  The mechs are the "insides" that the quarter/token etc drops through.   Anyway this might help
http://www.happcontrols.com/coindoors/doors.htm  I think that's just a basic over/under door Model #40-0038-00.   You can also check e-bay.

This is not a coin mech.  That is a coin door.  It appears to be the Over/under coin door that Happs sells.

Oh, I see.  SO that is simply the door and the money "container"...

So I would then buy the mechs I would need from happs as well.  What mech would work well with that door?  (I am assuming the door does not include the mech)

If you buy the door from happ the mech's are included.  If you bought on ebay it may or may not have mechs.  You'd have to check the description.  I think the door is like $88 from Happ.  On a side note, the door from happ comes with amber reject  buttons as opposed to red like you see in most coin doors.  Someone said if you call them, you can get them changed to whatever color you want.

Actually you can buy them as a package that contains everything you need.  Check out the over / under coin doors at www.happcontrols.com

Part #: 40-0038-00

I've got an over/under, used but reconditioned, if you want it.

Also, if you buy from Happ (more expensive but by far the easiest I think) you should know their site doesn't contain *all* of their products.  For example, if you want to use tokens, you'll notice their coin doors all ship with quarter mechs....  but you can call them and get the item number for a coin door that ships with token mechs, and I think it's the same price.
