video game storage ideas??
« on: September 03, 2011, 03:11:40 am »
I found this

http://www.amazon.com/Alexria-Media-Storage-Video-Cabinet/dp/B0041UEY84

seems like a very class way to store games, any other ideas on how to store games/consoles in wife friendly ways? Yes, I know ideally it would be best to just show off the collection to anyone who comes in, but I don't really care about showing it off, and I don't want our apt to look like a video game shop :P

For deep storage, games go into 1.5 cubic foot file boxes. My supply ran dry so I've been making do. As long as all the boxes are the same size it makes long term storage logistics a lot easier.

It looks good but make sure you have the shelf space. For easy access, I eerr we have a giant cabinet from IKEA of which I use half for my purposes. It's got a crazy number of cubby hole-like shelving.  I've been planning to cull them because my step-daughters moronic friends keep going through the collection and screwing everything up (apparently basic things like not scratching discs and putting them back in their original cases are entirely alien concepts to them).  My four year old treats my ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- better than my 11 year old. I have an unused odd corner in the house I intend to construct a custom lockable cabinet for the express purpose of storing the games.
