CNC file of arcade cabinets?
« on: August 25, 2011, 07:21:53 pm »
Would anyone by chance have a cnc file for any arcade cabinets? I found a local cnc shop that will cut it I just need the CNC file. I'm especially looking for a Nintendo cab but will consider any.

In my experience CNC machines are finicky about the actual gcode generated for them. You would probably be best served by getting something like a DXF of the parts in question, and then they probably have software to generate the actual file for the CNC. (unless that's what he meant in the first place).

I used Visio to draw up my metal CPs on the Two-Headed Beast. Saved it as a .dxf, put it on a flash drive, and gave it to my friend. He plugged the flash drive into the CNC laser he has at his work, selected the .dxf, and the CNC cut the panels out PERFECTLY. I couldn't believe how simple it was and how smooth it all went. But there appears to be 6 or more file formats that various CNC machines use.
