How much T-molding did you use?
« on: September 09, 2003, 03:15:46 pm »
Hi everybody,

I'm planning on putting in an order for t-molding tonight.  I'd like to buy enough for a couple of projects I have planned.  But on average...how much t-molding does a person use on thier cabs?  <2 person upright, 4 person upright, bartop, and cocktails>.
I've heard people say, "well I just ordered 25 feet"...But how much did you have left over?

Any help would be appreciated.

I got 25 feet off of e-bay for my 2 person upright (based on Lusids design), and have about 2 and half or 3 feet left over.  But my control panel isn't one that juts out of the cabinet.

I ordered 50 and had about 10 feet left over.  My cab is based on the lusid design and my cp is a rather large 4-player one.

I have a Defender style cabinet and the 20-feet that t-molding.com sent me was exactly the right length for both sides, around the marquee, and the front edge of the control panel.

I'd suggest you measure your cabinet prior to ordering and get a few extra feet just in case.

If you know the dimensions of the different pieces of your cab(s), you can easily determine this by just measuring the correct parts and adding them all together.

Great info folks!  Keep up the good work!

I actually don't have a cabinet built yet.  However I'm making a trip to the States in a couple of weeks, and a friend has allowed me to ship some parts I need to his place for pickup to save on shipping and duty.  So I figued I would order for a couple of projects and be set for when I get started.

<I put my order in for 40' of black and 40' of red, so I should be set now.>  :)
