Mame for Web OS

I know, half of you are going to see that title and go OOOH! that's sweet they released MAME for WebOS. THen you see this crappy post.... :badmood: ... anyhow. DOES MAME for WebOS exist?  I am thinking with all those cheap $99 HP Touchpads, that some nifty bartops can be made, cheap.  Or how about a Juke using the tablet as its core?

Or wait a few weeks for Android to get ported to them? (:  WebOS is dead anyway.

Looks like one dude ported a PSX emulator and a build of Mame to WebOS on the PalmPre:

But it's no where to be found on the original author's page, not to mention this comment:
Quote
"I think the impossible issue wasn't "on the Pre", but "under WebOS". This demo was running under Linux on a rooted Pre. The emulator had direct hardware access, not mediated through WebOS. "

No Mame for Web OS yet... but Android MAME does work on TouchPad
« Reply #3 on: December 27, 2011, 10:24:18 am »
To resurrect an ancient thread... I don't have actual news on MAME for WebOS (although I'm hopeful it will eventually appear, given the pending open source status), but I can confirm that an HP TouchPad running Android 2.0 will not only run mame4droid just fine, it works perfectly with an iCade.

I wouldn't use the current version of TouchPad Android for much of anything else--like the file name itself says, it's full of bugs, particularly including WiFi connecting--but for plain old MAME gaming, it works great.  Switch back to WebOS when you want a functional tablet back.

Here's a tutorial on installing Android.  Mame4droid is in the Android Market (free, natch), and the current version has an iCade setting built in.

I've gotten MAME4droid working on my G2 (HTC Desire Z), but it says its built using an old MAME version (0.39).

If you can find older ROMs for it, they work.  1943 actually plays very well.
