New joystick keeps sticking in up position?
« on: August 23, 2011, 12:10:16 am »
I've just finished wiring up a new panel with 2 x ParadiseArcadeshop lit LED joysticks.  Everything works fine except the player one joystick keeps sticking when pushing up.  Looks like the actual shaft of the stick is not bouncing back to the neutral position.  All switches seem to be ok and if you look at the shaft from the side you can see that it stays slightly slanted in the up position when pushed.
I'm gonna try and dismantle the stick tonight to have a look and was wondering what to look for?  Is there something that can be adjusted or most likely the cause??

Ok, I've nutted it out.  After pulling the whole stick apart I discovered that there is a large Donut shaped metal washer which sits in a groove in the plastic of the housing.  Everytime I pushed the stick this washer popped out of its groove and caused the stick to get stuck.  I used super glue to stick the washer to the plastic so it won't move out of its position and that seems to have worked.  Not sure if its meant to be stuck in place to begin with but it ain't going anywhere now!
