Popsicle drizzel and stuck buttons

Well, like the title says, I walked in to my office to find my 5 year old daughter playing bubble trouble with a Popsicle resting on the cp and sickey Popsicle juice all over her mouth hands and arms. Needless to say the cp was covered with sticky stuff and now my buttons are all stuck.

How do I take these things apart to clean them?

 They are the standard concave happs buttons.

Push the plunger feet in towards the center of the button and push them through the holes.

The dishwasher works really well too once they are apart.

as a rule i just take them apart and either warm-water-soap/dry and or soak them then scrub them off with a tooth brush..
then hand dry them

but dishwasher is just as handy

another vote for dish soap and toothbrush....i don't like to put small things in my dishwasher because they can move and drop on the heat element, but if you got one of those small item compartments in your dishwasher silverware area, that would probably work great.

I'll expand on the disassembly instructions a bit, as it isn't always obvious.

Remove the microswitch from the button - gently pull the long retention-pin tab away from the switch, then rotate the switch 90 degrees to extract it.  Remove the button assembly from the control panel.  Depress the button.  You should see two tabs extend from the bottom of the button.  Squeeze the tabs together and push them back into the button housing.  Withdraw the plunger from the top of the housing. 

Dish soap and warm water should be your cleaning agents of choice.  Harsher stuff may attack the plastic.

I was worried about pushing those little feet in at first, but it turned out to be a piece of cake.
