Cleaning up the edge of my monitor bezel...

I have just mounted the plastic monitor bezel I got from Happs.  I cut it to size with scissors (which I don't recommend - my hand still hurts a day later), so the edge is a little jagged, and not completely straight.  While it looks OK, I was wondering if anyone has ever put a molding or something similar around the edge of their bezel or plexi.  Nothing large - just something that would make the whole thing look cleaner.

You mean the edge that you cut, right?  If so, sanding it should do the trick.

You should be able to find some plain black edge molding at home depot that will fit just fine.

you mean black weather stripping??? seen that used alot if thats what your ask

Another black edging trim that looks good and has adhesive already in the groove is aftermarket automotive door trim.  It is used to dress up the edges of doors and keep them from nicking, or being nicked in parking lots.  I use it regularly to dress up fan blowholes that I dremel into computer cases.  The trim has snot-like adhesive that keeps it in place, and the trim comes in black.  Should work well for you.

Yeah, the car stuff kitbasher is talking about is actually what I am referring to. I have used it in many projects in the past. Don't know why I was thinking home depot though?

Next time use a razor blade and guide to cut the bezel.

Yes, I agree.  For future reference, the correct way to trim a bezel is to use a razor knife and straight edge.  All you really need to do is score the plastic, it's not necessary to cut it all the way through with the razor.  Then just bend the bezel at the cut and it snaps off clean.  It shouldn't take any more than 10 minutes to layout and trim a plastic bezel with perfect results this way.

Sorry this info doesn't help the original poster, but maybe it will save someone else a headache later...

Thanks for the advice...that automotive stuff sounds like it will do the trick.

I would agree that scoring and breaking the plastic would have been a better way to go - probably should have done some more research on that one.  My hand is still sore...
