Videos and snaps cause Taito Type X apps to lose focus?

Weird glitch occurring with certain Taito Type X apps: When I launch the applications (they are stand-alone applications, not emulators), they lose focus after they launch (the window collapses down), going back to MaLa. This ONLY occurs when there is video and/or snaps connected to the game in MaLa. The applications that seem to do this are the ones that have a vertical monitor orientation. I don't use Dragon King's rotation fixes, since my monitor rotates.

At the moment, I turned off videos and snaps for Taito X and everything seems to launch okay.

Any idea why this might be happening? I also tried both MP4 (which Circo did Taito X in) and tested it with AVI. Same result (focus loss).
