I give up... I need a joystick mounting plate

Anyone ever come up with any cheap joystick mounting plates?

I've been trying to hack some to get some snk30 rotaries going... but every time I do it, I'm cramped and they really just don't work well.

Is there any hardware items that will do the trick?  I'm not 100% going for looks (so if there are anything that will work I will try it for now).  

It just seems like there should be some type of plate used for something else that would work...

I designed my own and had them made up by a sheet steel workers ( 14mmX14mm mild steel with the holes stamped and drilled ). I had 3 made for NZ$30 ( that's about 50c US, j/k ). I then had them powder coated black for NZ$20. Now I have a pattern if I need anymore in the future it will be much cheaper.

Why didn't you mention it when you stopped by?  I might have been able to help you out.  

What specifically are you looking for in the mounting plate?  Just a plain, flat plate; or something different?

Just some plain mounting plates

I have 2 rotary joysticks that have the same holes as a normal joystick.  They have the same screw holes as a happs joystick... but that is actually a small metal plate.  The joystick is slightly smaller.  I thought I could use it's own mounting plate over MDF (which I could) but I couldn't use a quick disconnect on it and still fit in the whole I needed.  To make enought room, made it not enough wood around ti to really hold..

So I'm looking for a metal mounting kit.  That has a normal joystick whole or slightly bigger.  can screw in a normal happs joystick... And gives me a few inches around the side to screw into a board.

I have some metal I could use (used to have a ton of scrap metal before I moved states) but nothing to cut it with...  Might just go that route instead... I have never cut a big whole in metal though.  Any easy way to do it... I don't have a plunger drill.

I used my joystick (restrictor) mounting plates for my LS-30's.






All you need is good drill bits for metal.  For large holes, the step bits give the cleanest holes.  Hole saws tend to make burrs, but a file or dremel can take care of that.  Bob Roberts carries the larger step bits.

I'm going to try one more thing...

If I can't get it working, I will probably order two plates.

I kinda hate spending more on mounting plates then I did for the joysticks...  But I guess thats what happens sometimes.
