Motorized rotating monitor for dummies?
« on: July 24, 2011, 05:22:12 pm »
After realizing that decent quality LCDs big enough to properly enjoy vertical and horizontal games are way too expensive, I'm thinking motorized rotating monitor instead. I'm a complete noob when it comes to the skills required to do that though. Can anyone spell it out for me, the exact parts I need and how to put it all together? Or provide any links that would be helpful? I know there are some threads about it here on the forum, but they go way over my head. I'm completely clueless about working with this stuff, but would love to learn.

Thanks!

This is the easiest way:

DNA Dan posts the shopping list in this thread. If you go this way check with me because a lot of the parts have to be ordered in pairs and I have extra parts I don't need and can help you out with.

Also, DNA Dan's cab build thread goes into more depth on this method, you should read this first, he figured it out and did it the first time.

If you prefer to go printer port rather than USB,and are good with electronics, you can save some cash by using DaOldMan's methods

Thanks for the links, very helpful! Think I'll start gathering the parts, so I'll take some of your extras off your hands.

I'll send you a PM.
