Mame at 120Hz and resolution lock in Win7
« on: July 21, 2011, 12:32:18 pm »
Hey guys short question...
I tried running my mame games at 120Hz
I had them run at 100Hz before and that worked quite well but for some weird reason i cant run the games at 120 right now...

Maybe this has to do with my switch to Win7 recently... In WinXP I locked the refresh rate in DXDiag. Does anyone know if I can lock the refresh rate in Win7?
My monitor is connected via VGA and I think the NVIDIA refresh rate lock only works with DVI unfortunately... any other possibilties?

Just out of curiosity, why would you want/need 120Hz?

I tried playing games on 60Hz but it really makes my eyes hurt. On 100 Hz everything was running great and no flickering! I had all the emus set up to use this refresh rate and you could play for hours without getting Eye Cancer...  :dizzy: The big problem though is that side scrollers run jerky at 100 Hz because most of them run on 60Hz natively. Thats why I want to double the refresh rate to 120Hz!

With PowerStrip from www.entechtaiwan.com you can make custom resolutions and forced refresh rates.
