Proper cocktail cabinet to stool height?
« on: July 17, 2011, 11:18:38 pm »
What was the height of some of the popular cocktail cabinets back in the 80's?  My cocktail cabinet is 27 5/8" and the stools that seem to be popular are around 18", which is too short for me.  Finding something in the 22" range is impossible unless I get an adjustable doctor's stool or something similar.  I'm also 6' 4", so my opinion of what is proper is probably skewed, and certainly not the same as when I was a kid.

I want to buy some stools for my cocktail cabinet, but I also want them 'height appropriate' for visitors too.

To anyone:

What is the height of your cocktail cabinet?
What's the seat height of the stool/chair you use?
If you could do it over, would you get the same stool, or shorter, or taller?

I'd like to use the mass knowledge of BYOAC before I make a bad decision.
My cocktail is basically the one here, but with a 19" CRT: http://www.mameroom.com/Products_Cocktail_System.asp
