CD100 using a pioneer amp
« on: July 16, 2011, 10:41:31 pm »
So, I have a restored Rowe CD100 and the amp is giving me problems, so I have removed it and set it aside for now. I have a Pioneer amp rated at 100 watts per channel at 8 ohms. Anyone see any issues with taking the L/R speaker output from this amp and feeding it into the L/R input on the CD100 crossover board? I can't remember if the crossover is rated for 4/8/16 ohms  on the input side. Any comments/suggestion appreciated.

Any chance you could take a detailed picture of the crossover board and the wiring?  I have a CD-100 fully run by PC.  I have the original crossover but no wiring harness for it.  I'm currently using a 100w per channel Insignia amp with a homemade crossover running the speakers but i'm not happy with the output.  I would love to use the original crossover but i'm unsure how to wire it up.

Thanks for the pic but unfortunately it wont help me like I had hoped.  A friend of mine actually removed all the original speaker wires and rewired them.  I have the CD-100 manual so I guess I just need to check the schematic and check the color coding to see what wires go to what speakers and how it will hook into the amp.  Thanks though, this might kick me in the rear enough to get this project finished.
