i-pac4 problem
« on: September 05, 2003, 02:28:57 pm »
i don't know how this can be software related, but after i installed xp pro(full), every button and joy seem to sometimes register twice although i hit it once.  so i checked my wiring like 10 times and couldn't find anything that could be causing this.  i then decided to just rip all the wires and start over, testing a few microswitches....only to find that it's still messed up.  it's very annoying when i'm in arcade jukebox trying to que in a tune and it's a chore, know what i'm sayin'?
thanks for your help, my fans

have you went in and checked to see if your buttons are doubled up..? If you go into mame and check the buttons you can check it.

well, i removed all wires and checked one microswitch here, one switch there.  i'm doing one at a time and getting problems.  i can't have 40 bad microswitches

If you're saying you're testing the connections over the IPAC, then try testing the switches with just a multimeter... I seriously doubt that your microswitches are bad (at least no all of them).

You might just have a problem with the IPAC. They would probably replace it if that's the case.

and check you're on the NO terminals not the NC terminals...  thought someone had a prob with double presses once and it was cuz of that.  That's bout all I can think of though.
