Vertical games on horiz monitor...jittery look
« on: July 15, 2011, 05:29:03 pm »
I've noticed a lack of smoothness on alot of vert games (run on horiz arcade mon via soft 15k, 368x240). Galaga has a particular strangeness about it....even the starfield looks different than it should. Most of the time its the motion objects that don't appear to move smoothly. Its not herky jerky, but not fluid like it should be. Is there a setting(s) that needs to be tweeked? I haven't really had much time to screw with it since I put a full cab together....its been in heavy use by guests and my 10 yr old.....

And text looks strange too....I,T,E....those letters in old style 40 column....the horizontal parts of the characters are seperated by 2 lines. Its not a convergence issue....its the same color....

If you're using a CGA monitor, I'm not surprised.
