its pretty much extremely difficult/impossible? to hack analog controls to have analog controls on your CP.  If you hack them, essentially you would convert the analog signals into digital ones, which would just give you additional digital inputs.  If you already have 15 buttons, then you have all four directions, plus an additional 11 buttons.  That seems plenty to me.
