Sources for coin door
« on: July 08, 2011, 10:18:43 am »
Are there any sources to buy coin doors new as opposed to scouting for a used one? I'm building a donkey kong cabinet and would like something that looks close to original but not necessarily an exact match. I'm not opposed to paying a bit more for a new one vs. the time involved of refinishing an old beat up one. My cabinet build has taken so long already, anxious to get playing!

While a generic "coin door" is easily obtained new.... one for a DK is not.
http://www.mikesarcade.com/ carries much of the miscellaneous stuff for the doors (coin mechs and such) but not the door itself that I'm aware of.
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

I believe that Asahi Seiko makde those doors, and the still do make them.  I would look on ebay, I know there are some sellers that sell them too, and I think you can order from the asahi seiko website
