Ultimarc Experiences
« on: July 05, 2011, 07:42:22 pm »
Has anyone ever used Ultimarc, http://www.ultimarc.com/console.html to build a control panel, if there are any positive reviews, I might try to build a control panel for my gamecube/ wii cabinet with its adapter.

 :lol

I don't believe so, but many of us around have USED Ultimarc for pieces parts. If you look around the forum a bit you'll find quite a bit of praise for Ultimarc.

ETA: Looks like genesim speaks highly of the console adapters you're asking about in this old thread. And it appears that many others use it as well.

+1 and +1 (I give him a pass on not searching because I like recommending good sellers more than once)

The Ultimarc BYOAC Wiki page hasn't been updated in a while, but the reviews still reflect how great Ultimarc is.

If you placed your order when you posted this, you would already have your order from England . . . hand delivered by Dr. Who himself.

(David Tennant, not Matt Smith, to be clear)

My experiences has been good and bad. If you're just getting the computer stuff it's all good, but the Playstation stuff has serious issues.

I bought 25 buttons (most of them Ultralux).  Five were shipped with the wrong size nuts.  ;) I emailed Andy and he sent the replacements out the next day, no charge from England.  Plus Andy has helped me on several newbie related issues.  I have not had any issues with poor craftsmanship or quality.

I have to sell my ultimarc items the same as Andy, that is part of our contract but if the items are shipping in the US I can offer lower shipping plus if you need happ items, its 1 stop.  Right now I am shipping all orders same day or next day.  I still have a great stock on ultimarc but u360's are getting very low.  Ipacs etc are all good.  If you need a quote send me a pm

Am I imagining things or didn't Andy make a post about updating the u360's with better joints or something? What's the status on that?

Ya i remember he said that I think a year ago, when someone posted pics of the socket throwing metal shavings.

I bought 2 u360s when they came out, and 2 just last week.  They are different, but i dont think the socket is.  What I noticed is my balltop shafts are thicker then the first set i bought, and the balltops are lower quality.  They have a cast line around the middle that the first set didnt.

I've always had excellent sales support and service from Andy though.

Edit:  I found Andy's post, but I have no idea what exact parts he's referring to.  Maybe he can elaborate later on with pictures.

I am not in a position to post pictures right now but the change was the deletion of a thin washer which was used on the original Sanwa mechanics. This also involved a change to one of the spring bushings and the new one was White in Color rather then black.
There was also a later change. We deleted the use of silicone grease on the swivel bearing, but then re-introduced it again as we found is really is needed, so Sanwa were right on that one....
