How much is a road blasters steering wheel worth?
« on: June 28, 2011, 12:31:57 pm »
I recently acquired a Road Blasters control panel.   The steering wheel appears to work fine.  Someone also appears to have added an arcade style shifter to the control panel as well.   Not sure if its a 2 way or 4 way shifter yet.   It all seems to be in pretty decent condition.  I'm considering selling it, and was wondering if anyone had any guesses what such a thing would be worth?  Or what might be a fair asking price?  Thanks!

Well,  I got my Roadblaster PCB, pedal, marquee, and complete panel for $120 shipped.  I'd say a hacked RB CP is worth maybe... $20?

Ok.   I got it for free.  I didn't know if it was of any worth to anyone.  For $20 I guess I will hang onto it.  Would that steering wheel be a decent one to use on an all around driving cab?  Or is there a reason why it wouldn't work very well for all racing games? Seems like since I have a steering wheel and a shifter, all I'd really need is a pedal or two.

I got my whole working Roadblasters cabinet for $50.  I just need to rebuild the front of the cabinet where it looks like someone kicked it in, cap kit the monitor and all should be good.

You could wire it up and use it in MAME I am sure.  I can't remember... is it optical or analog?  I want to say it's optical but with physical limiters preventing  360 degree movement?  I sold the Roadblaster kit about a year ago so I can't check... though i want to say it was optical.

With the shifter hack (how clean of a hack is it) you may actually be able to get more dough from the MAME crowd.... $30-$40 maybe?
