What to do with a free cabinet.
« on: June 27, 2011, 11:11:14 am »
Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum & to the arcade world so I'm sorry if I come off sounding straight noob. Well here's the story. My friend worked in a photography store that recently closed & he has 2 perfectly working Atlus/Sega Print Club ver2 cabinets that he gave me no charge. I have them stored in my garage at this moment. So here's the question, what should I do with them. I've been reading up & to my knowledge these machines use the Sega STV board which would allow me to play a few games with just plugging in the cartridge. Should I keep them as is or gut them & MAME to go with the full conversion. I'm new to all this so any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Your call what to do with them.  How good of a shape are they in?  What do you want to do?  Maybe Mame one and restore the other.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I might do as you say, keep one as is & MAME the other. The cabinet are in real good shape, no dents or major scratches. Of course they're also made of plastic which helped preserve them. They don't look in no way as cool as your project cabinet.

Any advice for a noobie tackling this project. I definitely wanna change the control panel & exterior decor since the print club logos don't really match anything in my man cave haha. As for everything else, I'll rely on reading & reading more. Thanks for any help. I'll start a thread on this project if I don't get overwhelmed
