Not mine, but it looks like Gerald is running a pre-grand-opening tournament at his Sergeant D's Barcade this weekend.

I can't be there, but I would expect a good time (hell, I've had a great time at his auctions and now there is food and drink!).

Here is the listing on Kijiji:

Gerald is a great guy and has done tons for the local collector and enthusiast communities. If you can be there, please do.

DAMMIT—I can’t believe this.  Not TWO minutes ago, I posted in a thread on a different forum about classic game tourneys that are too far away, saying how cool it would be if one popped up reasonably close to home.  But I’ve got a stupid wedding to go to on Saturday.  Oh well, hopefully there will be others.

Gerald has been planning his arcade/barcade for years now and, despite all of the adversity, seems to have pulled it off (quietly if I do say).

I would expect that there will be more events like this ... maybe we can meet there and discuss iPads, money and brains!

 :P

OTOH, depending on how local you are, there is a patio gathering of collectors on Friday night in Waterloo (including the local pinball league). I can't go as my (kids') event runs through the entire weekend.

Adversity?  Trouble with licensing or something?

If I was thinking, I would have made a t-shirt with that slogan on it.  :)

I hail from lovely Windsor.
