Layout for DC Control panel

Thinking of making a cab to put my Dreamcast into and im currently tossing around ideas and I want your input on button layout for the controlpanel.
What im thinking about doing would look like the attached image, what do you guys think, could it work is it to weird?

It looks pretty good to me. The only problem I can think of is with any games where you have to press and hold one of the shoulder buttons, but honestly, there isn't a better way I could think of putitng it. The one good thing is most games that require you to hold it * I keep thinking driving games* don't require many more buttons if any.

My layout will base on that and btw its a good site to check out even though its concentrated on the "real thing". ;)

I find my layout is pretty good - it's wired to six buttons for the DC fighters, and there are 4 colored ones on the bottom row for the four main DC buttons.

Think about what games you will play in it and match it to the best layout.

looks good, i use the simple 2 rows of 3 like the arcade naomi games, but hte bottom line is whatever works for you.....

the 2 white buttons are the shoulder buttons and the other 4 correspond to the controllers colored buttons.

Thanks for the input guys, I think ill try my initial design out and if doesnt make it go for a 3-3 setup.
