Wingman Warrior w/ DOS MAME ??
« on: September 01, 2003, 07:36:43 pm »
Has anyone gotten a Wingman Warrior working with DOS MAME or Windows command-line MAME and Windows 98? I've gotten it to work with MAME32 but so far no luck with any other version of MAME.

The secret ingredient is love!

hmmmm...   that didn't fix it huh?  usually everything turns out great if I just give some love to my joystick.

Seriously though......
Did you enable the command line option for joystick input?  Mame32 has a checkbox for it, but command line mame likes to assume you have nothing but a keyboard unless you tell it otherwise.

You could also play around with "joystick polling" and stuff like that in your windows joystick settings.  I think it's a compatibility thing for old skool dos stuff.   (I dunno...   does Mame use DirectInput?)

Yeah - The joystick works (set love to 1) - it's the spinner that won't work in DOS.

ahh.. you'll need to use and configure a mouse driver...

Assuming you are connecting the WW via serial port, (if you use joystick dongle no spinner for you), the spinner "looks" like a serial port mouse...

Good luck  (i'd give more hands on info, but i destroyed my WW inadverdantly)
