can't decide between ...
« on: June 04, 2011, 05:08:44 pm »
...a button top joystick or rotary joystick.

For playing games like Ikari Warriors and Discs of Tron etc.

I've already purchased two spinners.
So would the spinners work pretty well with a button top for these style games?
or would the rotary work better?
There's also the issue of cost. I know that rotaries are quite a bit more.

thoughts?

I think that the rotary may work better (Though I find them to be a bit of a pain on my wrist).
Just before I logged on and read this post, I was testing out Ikari and Caliber 50 using a flightstick for motion (with trigger and thumb button for fire and grenade) and I used my spinner for rotation of the guy.
I found it a little weird to use it that way but I guess you could get use to it.

This is probably a lame suggestion but how about adapting a thumb button to a rotary joystick?
