Fanatec speedster 3 wheel pot?
« on: May 31, 2011, 11:38:22 am »
Hi

I'm in the process to hack some Wheel and pedal from Happ and I need to know the pot value for the fanatec speedster?

I found that the pedal pot are probably 10K, I want to know if the wheel pot is the same value?

thank's Gino

The wheel is not a pot as it has 900 degree rotation ability.  It is probably like a spinner in construction.

Sorry cannot give an exact value for the pedals.

Not familiar with the wheel, but Like BobA said, most newer wheels don't use pots for the steering wheel.
(and therefore aren't as easy to hack)

Here's what the one on my Logitech Momo wheel looks like.
(bottom gear on the back of the feedback motor is the encoder wheel)

It also has another sensor and a silver strip on the steering column so it knows where center is.

I'm still working out the kinks of hacking it.  I'll probably have a test-bench setup this weekend.

It doesn't have a 900 degrees rotation, I think it's more like 270 degress. it's the fanatec speedster 3 for xbox first generation.
