Should I Pick Up The Following Item?
« on: May 29, 2011, 10:22:41 pm »
OK,

So a local person near me is giving away a nonworking Golden Tee Golf II arcade machine for free.  Is it worth picking up?  By the way,  I'm an 18 year old senior in high school and I'm interested in getting involved in the arcade machine hobby.  So do you think that this warrants a pickup?

Thanks,

Andrew

P.P.S. Sorry the picture's flipped on its side.  It's what the guy on Craigslist posted

I would pick it up for sure. That would make a nice little jamma or MAME cab.

Thanks!  I was actually thinking of MAME.  What is Jamma though?  Sorry for the stupid question

60 in 1 games forget jamma but heres some info http://www.jammaboards.com/jcenter_jammaFAQ.html

50,000 in 1 MAME is the way and every other emulator for each console you can think of. Go with Hyper Spin for front end

nice cab if you buy it

If he is giving it away get it QUICK.   Do not think,  do not delay,   just grab it before someone else does.   You can think about the pros and cons of mame, multiboards and JAMMA when it is safely in your hands.

Not everything free is worth grabbing, but this one is. :)
