Hey All,

I have a Sega Last Bronx im converting to mame.
Rough Video here, must upload new one with new CP finished.

I removed old CP and Model 2 Game board too.
So its still has Marquee, Coin Door and 26 Nanao monitor, and Speakers being powered as normal.

Last Bronx uses Sega Model 2 has a CN5 AUDIO connection on it.
I dont know much, but I think this is unamplified.
And this goes a Power Amp that in Turn goes to the Speakers and Volume control.
Instead of hacking cheap pair of Speakers, could I simply wire up CN5 that used to go to Game board
instead to RED and White PHONO Cable that then goes to 3.5  std audio socket that plugs into PC?
I already have those wires to mod if anyone thinks this work fine.
3.5mm Stereo Jack to Phono Cable 2m

PHONO Cables have wires shielding aroubd main wire inside.
CN5 AUDIO Cable has 4 aires, L and R audio Pos\Negative.
Could I wire this together and have PC output sound to ARCADE Speakers?
this way can still used Volume controls that that came with machine inside coin door.

Thanks all,
Kev

  • What Me Worry?
Should work just fine.  Cannot see a problem with using the existing amp and volume control on a PC.

Thanks Bob,

Ya I think it will work fine too, cant find any topic on it though, thought it be a fairly common question or something people do.
Original Speakers was crazy loud on the Last Bronx Game, they sounded brilliant.
And can turn it up and down easily behind coin door, so definitely wanted to keep them if at all possible.

I bought red\white phono Car Stereo Cable yesterday, its other end has 5 wires already crimped, so takes mess out of it.
2 Wires for left, 2 for Right and Earth wire, dont know if can just leave that unused. But should be able to connect these to Arcade 4 wires easily now.

Ill keep you updated. :)

Great News this worked an absolute Charm,
Bit of Feedback in Speakers if Vol turned up HIGH using original Arcades Volume Control,
when no sounds playing. Its a bit of a Pain.

But other than that I was able to keep original Speakers to Original Power,
Wire My PC to AMPs input.
And AMP Also went to volume control in Coin Door that came with CAB.

HAPPY Dayz
Thanks Bob
