Aimtrak not recognized
« on: May 19, 2011, 02:51:32 pm »
Hello,

I recently got two aimtrak and one of them doesn't seem to be recognized (when i connect it alone). It shows "no device" in the aimtrak software. The other one is recognized immediately when i connect it.

Is there something i am missing or my aimtrak is defective?

You're going to need to set them as 1 and 2 in the Aimtrak software as well as probably update their firmware.

The problem is that it is not recognized even connected alone. So it doesn't allow me to do anything on it. It actually make the ultimarc v1.6 software crash most of the time.

I'd contact Andy from Ultimac, sounds like a defective module.

We can replace this. We are finding occasionally modules are becoming damaged in transit so the vertical sensor board develops a bad contact with the horizontal board. We have improved packaging to eliminate this.

I am having the same problem. Before I did anything I plugged the usb in to check the modules. One worked fine and the other doesn't. The computer sees it as a mouse but, I can tell that my pc is starting to lag. If I plug it in before I start the utility software it wont start. Soon as I unhook it, it opens up. Also, most of the leds the sensor bar were bent when I opened the box. In all honestly, Im not impressed with the packaging. I didnt spend my hard earned money on theses for them to show up broke.

I think mine was defective. It would lag or crash the software. Andy sent me another one that is working well. You should send an email to Andy.
