... and I mean JUST the panel... no monitor! ;)

I stripped it out of an old CRT as it's been cluttering up the place. I thought the touchscreen aspect of it was too good to throw away anyhow. It's a slightly curved serial ELO touch panel. Just wondering if anyone has got a cool suggestions for a project I could possibly use this for?  ???

The obvious one would be some sort of controller for PC use. There the obvious things like a Tablet but I'm just wondering what other things this could be used for (if any!)

Could you integrate it into the bezel of the monitor?  Put your admin buttons there?  No-one would know to touch spots on bezel to pause/etc.

Not really looking to build a cab. Been there, done that! Got far too many cabs! ;)

I think I'll just list it up for sale. I see it being quite a good component for a cab builder or perhaps for someone whose got a juke or quiz machine with a dodgy touchscreen.

Without the monitor?

You could probably build a static interface for just about anything with a printed graphic underneath.

some sort of homemade Wacom tablet?
If you have a media center PC for your tv, maybe a coffee table top controller?

EDIT: just a quick edit to point out that a touchscreen panel would probably make a horrible wacom for most purposes but i am merely throwing the idea out there.
