Aimtrak Solutions!
« on: May 11, 2011, 09:45:50 pm »
Hi guys. Got my aimtrak guns up and running software wise. The pieces of my project are slowly coming together hardware wise, so in the interim im playing with my guns! What i would like to hear are some solutions for mounting the LED bar for the aimtrak. I have searched and can only find guides on how to hide it in the bezel of a monitor. What im looking for is a less permanent housing idea. Will it fit in a WII sensor bar wit out bending the LEDs? Im hesitant to bend those things because they fell like they will break off if i so much as look at them funny. I read on an old post about housings that ultimarc sold that you can put them in but forgot to ask when i placed my order and after looking did not see anything like that on the website.

This is part of what I'm working on to house my Lightbar.

You can see the holes for the 5+1 IR LEDS on the bottom tube.

Trust me. You probably don't want to go this route.  :)

You're building an arcade in a trombone?!  ;)

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

 ;D

I've had more than one person tell me it looks like a trombone.

Wasn't my initial thought, but it'll work! Once I get the rest soldered together, I'm hoping it makes a bit more sense.
