Microsoft Sidewinder Dual Strike Hack / Drivers
« on: May 05, 2011, 03:46:24 pm »
Hi

Hope someone can help - I'm after the Windows XP drivers / software for the Microsoft Sidewinder Dual Strike, as I am doing a Star Wars controller hack.

I've searched via Google and even Microsoft, but I seem to come up blank, apart from a few pay sites, which obviously I'm loathe to do.

Has anyone got a copy of the CD that they could upload somewhere?

Much appreciated!

Cheers

D_Harris

I have the disk, but I wouldn't know how to get the software off it to somewhere on the internet, or even to my PC unless I install it.

Hi,

Being extremely new to this awesome hobby / forum; in fact, this is my first post here, and I know this is somewhat late to this particular discussion / request - but would anyone still be willing to share the MS Sidewinder DS Windows XP drivers / software?  They would be much appreciated  :)

Here's hoping......

P.S. Purchased MS Sidewinder DS off of ebay, so no driver / software disk I'm afraid  :'( , and I'm also looking at building a Star Wars controller with the appropriate DS hack; following the "HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN STAR WARS YOKE FROM EASY TO FIND MATERIALS" method by Menace; found here -> http://arcadecontrols.com/hosted/yoke/.

You don't need 'em. Like for most peripherals since, oh thousand-three or earlier, XP has basic [gamepad] drivers for just about everything.

@ Gray_Area     Thanks for the info......

I suppose that this would also work with Vista, Windows 7 and potentially Windows 8 then?  Thinking of future proofing that's all...

So, anyone had any experience / issues using other OS's than that of Windows XP with the Sidewinder DS?

Hi guys,

Just to let you know that the Microsoft Sidewinder Dual Strike controller is totally recognized by Retropie on Raspberry. No need any driver, it's working 'out of the box' ;-)
