Help with building CP
« on: May 03, 2011, 06:23:19 pm »
I have a mame cabinet and I want to change the control panel.  I'm not at home right now to take a picture of what I have, but I did find an example online and I have attached it.  The metal control panel has been re-drilled for 2 players with 6 buttons each.  When two players play there's not that much room.  I would like to make a bigger control panel and my question is, how would I attach it to to the cabinet?

if you look around on some custom cabs you might find it, but if you want to go bigger than the picture, and this is just my newbie opinion, i think you may have to almost build a box that fit the inside of the cab but would also be sticking out. it would almost look like you built the box and then attached it to the cab. hope that helps.

That's what I want to do.  I want to build a box so that it sticks out.  I want to replace that metal cp that's on there now.  I am sure I can build the box but I'm not sure how to go about mounting it to the cabinet.
