Hey folks.
I recently came upon a SF2:CE Cabinet for $100, game nonworking. I just got picture of the cabinet, and it's in great shape! It's a red-sided 90's cab, probably a Dynamo, with a SF2:CE conversion bolted onto it.
Assuming I fix it, I'm sure I can turn the board around for ~$50 or so (I know SF2's go for squat). Or I can keep it as a curio.
I was mulling over the options for this particular unit, and here's what I came up with.
Visually, I was going to replace the Marquee (SF2:CE) with new Multicade/Mame Graphics. I'd also strip the Capcom CPO off and put on something else. Sideart would come in somewhere as well.
A PC would go inside (2.7ghz Core2Duo, 2GB Ram, ArcadeVGA 3000).
Inside, I was planning on removing the 8-Ways and installing Happ Rotaries, then blocking off Button 5+6 on each side (Heavy Punch/Kick) to turn each player into 4-Button.
The monitor I want to turn to vertical orientation, as I'm already in the process of building a 4-Player standard cab. A vertical bezel would have to be built, obviously, to make for the new monitor.
This would leave me with a pretty nice vertical orientation setup.
What I'm not sure on is wither or not I should gut the old harness out, or convert the beastie to JAMMA and use a J-PAC to interface with the cabinet. This would let me drop 4-Button JAMMA games in with no issue.
What do you guys think?
