Cabinet name opinions wanted
« on: August 27, 2003, 10:33:15 am »
My new cabinet (based on 1UP design) will be called..

Transformametion

Now should that be written "transfor-mame-tion" or "transformametion" or is the name too long and unwieldy??

I like the way it sounds but I'm worried that its going to look dumb on a marquee.  Opinions?

not sure about the length of the name, but if you could get the transformers font and stuff that would make a cool marquee

Its funny that you mention that--that was the whole impetus behind the name--a transforming cab+retro=transformers
+mame=tranformametion  ;D

I guess i should cease to be amazed when people on this board have the exact same ideas as me  ;)

"TRANSFORMAME" might have a better flow, it's a little hard to say Transformametion...

Or maybe even TRANSFORMMAME (using the transformers font for the TRANSFORM part, and the MAME logo for the last part...

make me curious.... can you cabinet transform ??....  ;) ;)

I mean seriously.....

like open this and flip that and the CP changes,.....
rotate this and switch this and marquee changes....
pull this and push that and the monitor rotates....

I would really like to see that.....

ps: I'm only half joking.... after 1up's cab....
I think anything is possible... its just bound to your imagination....
 :o :o ;) ;D ;D

I agree with 1up... that would seem to roll off the lips a little easier.

Hmm... transformmame..doesn't have the same roll to it--but it is shorter.  I intend to have a rotating CP with foot pedals that fold up when not in use--I was going to rotate the monitor too, but with a 25" there really isn't the need.

The 3rd panel will be suitable for a USB joystick, 270 steering wheel or 2 x360 wheels--Also the star wars yoke eventually (ah dare to dream) all held to the panel with sucker cups--I don't know anybody that yanks on a wheel that hard to pull them (except one of my buddies but he's been warned...)

Edit: added rough idea of what I was thinking with input from you guys (ignore the different letter sizes--I screwed up ;D)

Mate I certainly got a good laugh out of it. It's not bad I'll give you that and quite witty! Keep up the good work.
