FS: Black and Clear IL Push Buttons (Wyoming, ships)
« on: April 07, 2011, 07:06:33 pm »
I have 26 10 of these pushbuttons. They are the extra parts combined from the buttons I used for my project. These are brand new and never used. 24 8 have 50 gram micro switches and the other 2 can either be 20 gram, 75 gram, or 125 gram (I only have 1 20 gram switch and 1 125 gram switch). These just came from Paradise Arcade Shop. The plungers are clear and the barrels are black. You can light these with the IL button LED boards Paradise sells, but to do so you'll have to drill a small hole in the base of the black barrels to allow the light to pass through. Asking $1.75 each +shipping of your choice.

I'm interested in ~half a dozen of these, but I would like to see the modification I need to do to get them to light up. Also is the light fully contained inside the button?

EDIT: Can you add anything like a label, behind the button? Is it flat in there?

You can see the button mods I made to mine for Paradise Arcade Shop's IL-lumation RGB boards in my build thread posts #15 and #69. #15 would be the main one to get these buttons lit up, but you would have to also drill a small hole in the button body directly above the LED of the RGB board. I would mod one of these to show them lit up, but all my IL-lumination RGBs are already installed/glued into my other buttons. Hope this helps.

EDIT: Don't know off hand if it is perfectly flat on the inside, I will check when I get home this evening. My concern would be keeping the label straight/centered, it might turn inside during use if it isn't glued in place.

The inside surface of the buttons is flat, so if you wanted to you could put a label in there (I'm assuming you're thinking of using these as admin buttons). The inside diameter is 5/8", that would be as big as your label could be.

EDIT: Drilled a hole in the bottom of one and printed out a $ label and threw it together and lit it with an LED flashlight. They're kind of like a mini ring of light with a label in them. It doesn't seem that easy for the label to move once installed either, but you never know...

I LOVE your project. Any chance of me getting 16 buttons and the Run and Gun board all in one transaction?

Thank you. 16 of these buttons? Or 16 buttons like I'm using in my project? These are essentially the leftovers from making the buttons for my project. I just threw that button together and put it in one of my panels to give a good idea how these would look. If you like these (clear plungers, black bodies) I could hold you 16 of them to go with Run N Gun. But if you're talking about the original "ring of light" buttons, I don't have any spares, and to make them is EXPENSIVE as far as just buttons are concerned.

Im going to do what you did, but instead of Rings of light, I'll light up the middles.

So these will work just fine. Consider 16 on hold for you. :)

EDIT: Somewhere along the line I have also acquired a Run N Gun 2 board.

PM me a total for everything and shipping to 19711, I dunno if i have the budget for 2 boards and 16 buttons or not. RnG is listed for a lot but the last board that actually sold on ebay was $10 lol. I got pretty good feedback here/ebay/everywhere

Run and Gun 2 board  :o.  Has it been tested (working?). I used to love that game. How much do you want for it? That is if Malenko doesn't take it, of course.

Glad to hear everything made it to you safely!

On a side note, all of the buttons are gone.
