« on: March 24, 2011, 05:10:11 pm »
so...what do you think, need to change something in the sideart ?

This picture a little old, but already finished cutting all the holes in the CP, now i'm working on the design ( these are just buttons that I had before I got my RGB buttons and RGB ball for the trackball i ordered from GGG )

I think it looks really good! I especially like the RYU side. Maybe you should put the RYU side on whichever side will be most visible?

I like how you thread the gun cables under the Capcom letters so as not to mess up the aesthetics of the cabinet.  ;D

Seriously, it looks nice.

Very nice.

Only thing for me is I find the black background of the CP sides/front distracts from that awesome side art.  Maybe continue the brick theme? A subtle drop shadow to Capcom might help bring out the lettering more if you do go the brick route.

I like how the black breaks up the bricks. Keep it.  What is the black box in the middle of the cp?

It looks really bad with bricks  behind the CAPCOM logo

You're talking about the 7" touch screen ?

BTW this is all the parts i have in my cab now

7" touch screen ( add a servo to the screen and connect it to the pc so i can contol the angle from the pc with scripts or while pressing a button )

27" full HD lcd ( for the marquee )

29" CRT TV ( main screen )

Betabrite prism

RGB buttons from GGG

2X u360 joysticks

4 way joystick ( cant play 4 way games without restrictor, i also have 2 way restrictor for this joystick so i can replace it when i want )

HAPP tron flight stick ( maybe i will mod this with u360 joystick )

2 X aimtrack guns

HAPP trackball + GGG rgb ball

2 X turbo twist spinner ( 1 is for the wheel )

HAPP wheel ( i glue the spinner head to the wheel so i can remove it )

2 X HAPP pedals

HAPP high/low shifter with turbo button ( i build mini dash for the wheel and shifter )

3 million color led kit
( for the jukebox, I'm also displayig the songs names on the betabrite )

xbox 360 ( i also have opition to connect PS3 when i want, but anyway all the fighting games released for both the xbox and ps3 )

kinect

*gasp* wow

Hmm... will the kinect be for 360 games or are you planning to use it w/ your pc fo other uses? (I saw a vid of a guy using it to play some shooting games on their pc)

and why do you need an LCD and beta brite? Don't ppl usually choose one or the other?

and i dunno about the flight stick and wheel.. I'd leave those off. I've never seen a control panel that integrated those in a way that didn't mess up the look of the cab.

the kinect is for the xbox

the betabrite cover the top part of the marquee screen

There are many cabs with flight stick it's look great ( you can see the pic in the first post ) of course the wheel will not be on the  CP, as I said I built a mini dashboard for the shifter and wheel, where it will be I will show later, but it will be in the cab and not visible ( the pedal also )

Looks nice!...

I love the oversized characters looks on cabs...

One suggestion though... try seperating or give some depth to the SF logos at the bottom (below Ryu & Chungli)  maybe use an outer glow or drop shadow perhaps?

Another thing to think about also..on your Marquee... switch out Ken and replace with Chung-li portrait...

the marquee is not a problem because this displayed on the monitor so i can change it every day dont need to print it

about the logo i have few more SF logos and maybe i will change this and added some effects, first I want to finish the CP, I had a lot of options I tried on the background, I'm still thinking whether to keep the bricks background or find something else

Like I said, I really like this side art.  The brick, though, seem too similar in tone to the skin on the side with the guy (sorry, I have no idea who these characters are :().

If you tried a darker brick, it might make the characters pop a little more.

Just an idea.

I love those Geico commercials.  And yes, I crawled under an arcade rock and didn't frequented arcades after the 80's  :o.

In the early '91 I bought a PC and started playing all sorts of PC games... I never made it back to the arcades, so I really missed out on all the games of the 90's.

YES indeed - where did you get those Ryu and Chunlee graphics. I've tried to find these but can never find quality ones. Help a brother out?
My art is always free for you to download and modify as you see fit...
Why?... because I could never find any art I loved on the net. So I played around with Photoshop and wish to share it with the arcade community.

Ah finally :banghead: i worked it out  :applaud:- find any image you like the look of (any quality) - then use http://vectormagic.com/home to turn that fuzzy little jpeg into an .EPS file that can be printed the size of a house without loss or jitter.

You can not use this software for complex images,  only simple pictures like logos, complex images will look really bad
