FS: .984 x .060 Brass Tokens (200 for $28)
« on: August 25, 2003, 05:34:54 pm »
Brand new!  Very shiny.  Three of them have been taken out of the bag and put down a mech, then put back in the bag, but that's the extent of the use these have seen.

Reason for selling:  Want to do something special with my quarter coin mechs, and these won't work because they're slightly larger than quarters.  I need the .900x.070 tokens instead.  So either I do an RMA exchange with Happ...   or I sell 'em to you guys!

Here is a link to the exact product on Happ's page:
http://www.happcontrols.com/coindoors/42073100.htm
Item number 42-0701-00,   size: .984x.060,  sold by Happ for $0.16 each.

I'll sell them to someone for $28 plus cost of shipping.  This is because if nobody wants to buy them off me I'll just get an RMA number and return them to Happ, so I don't want to sell for very much less than my purchase price.  I just thought I'd see if someone else wanted to buy them first.

Here's a picture.  You can see the reflection of the camera in one of the tokens.   :)   Very shiny.

EDIT:  Doh, I put a different price in the subject than in the message.  My brain just hates me some days.

A lot of people just have a bucket by their machine and use them like that.

What I'm doing with tokens?  or what people normally do with them?

If I use quarters at parties, people would confuse their pocket quarters with my "arcade quarters"...   so I plan on my mechs rejecting the tokens back to the little tray, and put a switch at the top of the mech so even coins that get rejected give a credit pulse.  Then, dropping a quarter in gives a credit and puts the quarter in my piggy bank, and dropping a token gives a credit and spits the token back out for the guy to use again.

Most people probably get token mechs and don't use quarters at all, or have credit buttons and only use quarters themselves.

it will once I get tokens that just reject instead of sticking in the mechs...

I expect to have a .900 token sample today.  When I get it, I'll check back here to see if anyone has offered to buy these, and if not they'll go back to Happ the next day.  So if you want 'em, post.   ;)

I can put you in touch with a guy who sells 500 .900 23mm tokens for $15... I just bought some.  They were dirty as expected, but soaking them in vinegar fixed that.

I might be interested in that, if I can return the tokens I bought from Happ without losing much.  My sample .900 token isn't here yet so I'll get back to you.

I'm closing this offer - nobody's interested and I'm not really surprised (at Happ prices :) )
